Food - not packaged?
Challenges from the consumer's point of view for more sustainability
Many consumers want to avoid unnecessary packaging waste. However, it is not easy to implement this, as many foods, especially fruit and vegetables, are only offered pre-packaged in the supermarket.
Hair soap and solid shampoo - an alternative to shampoo?
Many people think about reducing their plastic consumption in everyday life. How about starting with the things that are consumed most in everyday life, such as shower gel, liquid soap or hair shampoo? They can be replaced by natural cosmetic products. However, they are still mostly offered in plastic bottles or tubes. But here, too, there are already good alternatives.
Microplastics in cosmetics and the sea
Plastic in the sea, large rubbish whirlpools consisting of plastic pieces of all sizes and widely distributed microplastic - this is the worrying situation in our oceans.
Recycled paper is the better choice!
The paper industry consumes huge amounts of wood. Every fifth tree that is felled in our world ends up in paper production. About 20 percent of these trees come from virgin forests. In addition, large amounts of energy, water and chemicals are consumed to obtain beautiful bright paper from the wood fibres.
No stress with the climate
Who hasn't experienced it: the sun is shining and the apartment heats up. What is desirable in winter and in the transitional period is unpleasant in summer or leads to heat stress.
This is not a problem in low-energy and passive houses, because the appropriate technology is available, yet it is a problem for many residents of older and insufficiently insulated flats.
